Sightings

SOME RECENT SIGHTINGS SUBMITTED TO THE CLUB

December Highlights: In a quiet month for sightings,Stag Rocks seems to offer most interest this month with the Scoter Raft increasing and a few sightings of Red -throated Diver, Slavonian Grebe and Long-tailed Duck on the sea. The Purple Sandpipers are also back in good numbers. Likewise the Whooper Swans are gathering in the traditional fields along the Tweed Valley west of Coldstream/Cornhill; of course they cross freely from the Scottish to the English side, but for recording purposes only those South of the river fall into our reporting area! Branton Ponds, regularly checked by Ian and Keith Davison often provide interesting species such as a wintering Chiffchaff, or a Green Sandpiper seen from 4th-22nd. Check out the full list below........(SVM)

Please send sightings for January no later than 1st February, 2018 for County Records and Newsletter. to: - j.lumby@yahoo.com  or j.lumby@yahoo.co.uk
